Summary

Description
English: Paan Chakki means a flour mill which is run by the force of water... Its a tale of that period (1695 AD ) when electricity was yet to be discovered. Hence two flat & round shaped grinding stones (just like the stones used inside the modern flour mills) were placed horizontally one on top of the other. Wheat etc were fed through a small hole on the top stone. Then it was moved in a circular motion (the top stone only) by hand to crush the wheat & get flour... It required a lot of muscle power & time... Hence to ease the daily efforts Paan Chakki was discovered so that the same job can be done by using the force of water instead of muscle power... In this pic, the small pool is the source of water storage which runs the Paan Chakki & if u look closer towards the green light at the right side top corner, the water in the pool is continuously been replenished from an outside water source (Previously it was from a nearby spring)... The Paan Chakki is located at the extreme left corner of the pic, few feet below the ground level & is working even as of today...
