Russian steam locomotive type P36 (П36), serial number 0251, it was the last Soviet-built steam locomotive (1956). It belongs to the collection of the railway museum of Saint Petersburg. This photo was taken when museum was situated outside the city, near village Shushary (Шушары). Later museum moved to the city. It's now situated in the former Warshava station (Варшавский вокзал). The placard reads "1856 - 10420 - 1956/LAST PASSENGER STEAM LOCOMOTIVE/KOLOMNA LOCOMOTIVE PLANT/NAMED AFTER V.V. KUYBYSHEV".
