Formerly F42226. Hand written on back of mat board: "Mont: Flathead, #53," and "53905-17 to 53912-17."; Identification printed on back of mat board, with:"Michel Wyateelame, Perma, R. F. D. in Camas Prairie, Flathead Reservation, Montana. Susie Magpie, his wife, daughter of Judge Pierre Magpie, of Indian Court at Dixon, Montana. Forest Guard Harold Flower, three Flathead Indians. Michel is about 80 years old, a remarkable Indian, physically and mentally, was robbed of about [sic] $60,000 in gold and his first wife murdered at the time of robbery, either by the robbers or Michel. This home is comfortable and sanitary, and the U. S. flag waved from its staff when visited by Inspector W. S. Coleman in May, 1917. Indian drum is seen in the foreground."; Stamped on back of mat board: "Property of Indian Affairs, Washing, D. C., neither front nor back to be marked or mutilated in any way."; R7100310650
