DescriptionOuse Washes, near Welney - geograph.org.uk - 1046163.jpg
English: Ouse Washes, near Welney On a calm November afternoon, the water is still, but the area between the New and Old Bedford Rivers, which is allowed to flood at this time of year, can be quite rough in windy conditions. The 'reach' is many miles long and the width of the flooded area is over half a mile at this point. Prevailing south-westerly winds can heap the water over the A1101, from where this photo was taken.
