| Description |
English: Otaru port in 1909 (Meiji 49). Breakwater protrude from the left and right sides of the boat entrance. They were broken many times by big waves. Cargo was transferred from the Kitamae-bune offshore to the barge, and then the treads were handed over and carried on people's shoulders. There are rest areas and stalls in front of the warehouse on the shore side. An old man is taking a nap on the trolley in front.
日本語: 1909年、小樽市の港（北海道）。船入澗には左右から波よけが飛び出してますが、大波を受け何度も壊れたとか。沖の北前船から艀に荷物を受け渡し、歩み板を渡し担いで荷役していました。岸側の倉庫の前にも休憩所や屋台が出てる感じですね。手前の台車ではおじさんが昼寝中。 |
