The photograph is signed on the back Van Dyck Adelaide. The appearance of Tiegs in the photograph would age him consistently with his time in w:Adelaide, w:South Australia, Australia, between 1922 and 1925.

There was photographer, Van Dyck in Adelaide, who also is responsible for at least one other portrait photograph associated with the w:University of Adelaide for a similar period^[1].

The image here is a scanned copy provided by the holder of the original. The holder of the image came into possession of the image from their mother, who was one of Oscar Tiegs' sisters.
