DescriptionOregon City Br - viewpoint and former restroom entrance.jpg
Viewpoint on the northeast side of the 1922 Oregon City Bridge. The obelisks stand atop the bridge's main support pier and originally flanked the entrances to public restrooms that were housed within the pier. The restrooms were closed in 1937 due to recurring vandalism, and the stairway entrances (one on each side of the bridge roadway) were covered over in concrete. The lights on the obelisks were eventually removed, but newly cast replicas of the originals were installed in 2012 as part of a major renovation of the bridge. (Note: This wide-angle photo has significant perspective distortion, making the obelisks appear to be not straight.)
