A labor union hall located in the Church-Wellesley area of Toronto.
The presence of labor unions is much more visible in Canada than in the US, where between vilification by business interests and a string of "right-to-work laws in many states, union membership has plummeted over the past few decades. And since Canadian labor unions do not have to fight for basic survival or political points the way their US counterparts often have to do, their functions are more likely to be visible throughout the greater society, often in the form of volunteer work and other charitable contributions.
