Description
English: Image of Fusakichi Omori and his hand-drawn map of the San Andreas Fault accompanying an article he wrote for the San Francisco Call newspaper, 05 August 1906. Dr. Omori was a pioneering seismologist and the head of the Imperial Committee to investigate the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. He traveled the full length of the map shown, describing and photographing effects of the earthquake on California landscapes, homes and buildings.
