English: Dedication ceremony for the opening of the Sterling Highway on September 6, 1950. This was held along the north shore of the Kenai River at the Old Kenai River Bridge in Soldotna, Alaska. Newspaper stories published before the event stated that the ceremony to be was presided over by territorial governor Ernest Gruening. Third Division judge Anthony Dimond, Alaska Road Commission officials and military officials were also invited to attend as dignitaries.
