Description
English: South Hill, Bellingham, Washington: a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train carrying crude oil from North Dakota's Bakken oil field.
The lead engine is BNSF 5193 and the second engine is BNSF 1116, which are both General Electric GE C44-9W 4,400 hp (3,281 kW) diesel-electric locomotives.
  • Location: Looking northward, the photo was taken at 48.732474, -122.500691 – next to Boulevard Park, on top of a small overpass/footbridge, part of the South Bay Trail. The paved path by the railroad is part of the same pedestrian trail system. The waterbody is Bellingham Bay.
