Description
Deutsch: Adiri, eine typische Oase im Wadi Ash-Shati, wie sie Heinrich Barth im 19. Jahrhundert illustrierte. Im Hintergrund sieht man einen sogenannten Ksar (qaṣr, al-qasr). Barth bemerkte, dass diese Wüstenburg nur eine von vielen im südlichen Fessan und wahrscheinlich mit der Anwesenheit der Garamanten in diesem Gebiet verbunden ist. Er berichtete auch über Gräber der Garamanten aus dem 5. Jahrhundert, die sich in Adiri befinden (Heinrich Barth: Reisen und Entdeckungen. Justus Perthes, 1857, S. 152).
