Description
English: The "Polar Star", a Northrop 2B Gamma aircraft. Used during several of Lincoln Ellsworth's antarctic expeditions. In 1935, pilot Herbert Hollick-Kenyon and Lincoln Ellsworth crossed the antarctic continent in this aircraft. Today, the plane resides in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
