DescriptionNorth Tyneside College - geograph.org.uk - 78036.jpg
English: North Tyneside College. The entrance to North Tyneside College, which has expanded considerably since the photographer attended many years ago. The design of the main building is supposed to be redolent of a ship - maybe it is if you squint. You do not have to squint if you see it from the other side of the college when you are driving along the Coast Road towards Newcastle - it looks (with some imagination) like a ship heading down towards the Tyne. It was designed by the Newcastle Architect Jane Derbyshire at the request of the then College Principal, Paul Harvey.
