Description
English: Confederate POW letter, inner letter with CSA postage stamps attached. Postmark Richmond, Va Sept 27, 1864. Lt Col Wharton Jackson Green (1831-1910) staff officer to General Daniel and wounded at Gettysburg and captured. Letter is dated: “Johnson’s Island Ohio July 28th 1864” Endorsed at upper left “W. J. Green ADC Prisoner of War.”
