Norsk bokmål: Eskimoer (inuiter) fra Kap Bille tar avskjed. De har fulgt med ekspedisjonen i sine kajakker og konebåter nordover østkysten før isen ble for vanskelig å bryte gjennom. Ett av bildene fra ekspedisjonen over Grønland i perioden juli 1888 til mai 1889. Fridtjof Nansen sammen med 5 norske deltagere krysset Grønland i løpet av en 42-dagers skiferd fra øst- mot vestkysten.
English: Inuits from Cape Bille bid farewell. They had followed the expedition in their kayaks and «wife-boats» (umiaks) north along the east coast before the ice got too difficult to break through. One of the pictures from the expedition to Greenland in the period July 1888 to May 1889. Fridtjof Nansen together with 5 other Norwegian participants crossed Greenland in the course of a 42-day skiing trip from the east to the west coast.
