English: Specimen of Nicrophorus sayi Laporte, a so-called sexton beetle that is attracted to dead animal carcasses. This individual was collected in USA: Connecticut: Middlesex County: Killingworth, in a pitfall trap baited with a dead chipmunk at the interface between a meadow and a forested area with mixed conifers and hardwoods, 28-May to 31-May-2011, collector M.K. Oliver, in collection of same. Length of this specimen: 21.6 mm from front of head to tip of abdomen. In Connecticut this species is usually found much less frequently than N. orbicollis.
