Summary

Description
English: An aerial view of the Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock shipyard on the James River in Newport News, VA. In drydock #11 is the USNS Gilliand (T-AKR-298) prior to her conversion to a roll-on/roll-off rhip. In the drydock to the right of AKR-298 is the nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser USS Long Beach (CGN-9) while undergoing deactivation. Image dated 17 Oct 1994.
