DescriptionNew Galloway railway station (site), Dumfries & Galloway (geograph 6162105).jpg
English: New Galloway railway station (site), Dumfries & Galloway Opened in 1861 by the Portpatrick Railway on what later became the Portpatrick & Wigtownshire Joint Railway from Castle Douglas to Portpatrick, this station closed in 1965. The railway line was known as 'The Port Road'.
View east towards Parton and Castle Douglas. The station was always known as New Galloway, despite being 5 miles south of there at Mossdale. A triumph of marketing over reality?!
