English: Confocal microscopy. ImageJ 1.41, unit = µm. In brain, both mature neurone (in blue-grey) and newborn neurone (in red), are accompanied by astrocytes (in green), which are in charge of 'taking care' of them by providing support and nutrients. As a whole, brain appears like a explosion of light and colour in perfect harmony. Español: En el cerebro, tanto las neuronas maduras (gris azulado) como las de nueva formación (rojo) se encuentran acompañadas por astrocitos (verde), que son los encargados de “cuidarlas” proporcionándoles alimento y protección.
