Summary

Description
English: Marine barometer in the collection at The Mariners' Museum, Newport News, VA. It was made by Nairne & Blunt ca 1780. After a great deal of research, it was discovered that this barometer was likely the one that accompanied Captain James Cook on his third voyage, although this cannot be proven without a doubt as these barometers were not numbered.
