English: NZASM (Nederlandsche-Zuid-Afrikaansche Spoorwegmaatschappij) 46 Tonner (0-6-4T) tank locomotive (subsequently SAR Class B locomotive), number 230 ”Jan Wintervogel”, at Witbank railway station, Transvaal (now Mpumalanga), South Africa in NZASM livery. This particular locomotive, manufactured by the German company Maschinenfabrik Esslingen was delivered to the South African Republic in 1898, the year before the outbreak of the Boer War.
