Summary

Description The New York Marble Cemetery, with its entrance at 41 Second Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was founded in 1830 and was the first non-sectarian cemetery in the city. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.)) The Cemetery is generally open to the public on the fourth Sunay of the month from April to October, and on other days throughout the year. (Source: New York Marble Cemetary website) This picture was taken on May 1, 2011.
