Summary

Description

A childhood sensation, a unique poet, a versatile Naat Khwan and a wonderful human being; Muzaffar Warsi. I have very dearly idolized him and been an ardent fan of his poetic masterpieces and uniquely melodious voice. I vividly remember the night I heard the news of his death and it was the dawn of the same night that I incidentally woke up, kept listening to his beautiful Naats at the same time praying for Warsi Sahib. It was then I had vowed to be at the grave of the great Naat Khwan and pray for the departed soul. Buried in Johar Town Graveyard at Lahore, the gravestone bears this beautiful couplet composed by Muzaffar Warsi himself: In the household of death, lies this erratum known to all as life, Here lies in safekeeping of the earthen locker, one soul (worth nothing but merely) the dust from the gates of the Prophet (Muhammad Sallala ho Alaih e Wasallam); May the breeze sway always, as it keeps bringing from the Court of my Lord,

The flowers of His mercy and keeps showering on my grave.
