English: "The Retribution Comet" Editorial cartoon published after the Mussel Slough Tragedy, showing railroad tycoons Charles Crocker (left) and Leland Stanford (Southern Pacific Railroad) as robbing the graves of the Mussel Slough victims.
  • It occurred in 1880, between local settlers and the S.P. Railroad monopoly, just outside Hanford, Kings County, central California.
  • Mussel Slough site is a California Historical Landmark in Kings County.
