Description
English: Mumal -Ji- Mari mound
English: Moomal-Ji-Mari is situated from south-east of village Mathelo and about 10 kms from Ghotki city District head quarter. It covers an area of about 2 acres and 25 feet high from the adjacent plain level. The outlook of the mound with its height suggests a visitor that the place must have been of much significance in its olden days. The remains of the fortification wall with its bastions are visible. The Sun dried bricks are used in its construction. The mound is known by the local people as Moomal-Ji-Mari. Moomal is well known in Sindh for being the heroine of the legendary love tale arrtibuted to her, and the hero of the story was Rano Mendharo Sodho of Umerkot . But according to Mirza Kaleech Baig, well known writer of Sindh, Moomal-Ji-Mari was years ago. However, the other historians are of different opinions. actually a fort, which was built by a Hindu Rajput about 1400 years ago before Islamic period. .
