English: Morestead Sewage Farm. This waste water treatment plant, which serves the whole of Winchester, is situated on both sides of the M3. This photo shows the western side in the early morning; it is in shade the rest of the day. This is the largest "return to ground" plant in England. The green ditch pattern allows treated water to seep back into the chalk aquifer, whence in due course Twyford pumping station returns it to the mains!
