A class 47 locomotive, as yet to be repainted in "corporate blue" livery, runs round a train of oil tanks bound for Heysham at Morecambe station which then abutted directly onto the promenade. Since 1976, the station has been relocated further inland and the facilities in the photograph have been redeveloped, erasing all traces of the railway.
