English: Incised stone on the filled-in route of the Monkland Canal at 55°51′30.7″N 4°0′39.5″W / 55.858528°N 4.010972°W / 55.858528; -4.010972. The text reads:

Today most of the Monkland Canal is piped underground. Water still flows along it, all the way to the Forth and Clyde Canal in Glasgow. Through Coatbridge its route is an important corridor for wildlife and recreation.
