Based on data and inspired by diagram in the paper "How Massive Single Stars End Their Life" (Heger Fryer Woosley Langer Hartmann, 2003 Astrophysical Journal 591 288 doi: 10.1086/375341, published 2003-03-11).
Note - data from from the above paper has been used as a basis for this diagram. However all creative choices in its design were discussed. The conclusion was that there is only one way to diagrammatically show the same data (collapse mode as a function of size/metallicity), that the data plotted and its representation by colored regions of an XY graph, are not copyrighted, that the graph is not a copy of that in the paper but contains additional informaton, and that the significant creative choices of presentation of the original diagram have correctly been replaced. Further modifications were made as a result of others' suggestions and it was concluded that this upload does not infringe anyone's copyright.
