Description
English: A page from a 1939 issue of Al-Musawwar magazine showing the people who took part in the signing of the Islamic marriage contract between King Farouk I and Queen Farida of Egypt. The five photographs are those of:
  1. Youssef Zulficar Pasha (upper right), the father and legal representative of the bride (Queen Farida);
  2. Sheikh Mustafa al-Maraghi (upper left), rector of Al-Azhar University;
  3. Ali Maher Pasha (middle, right), the first witness;
  4. Sa'id Zulficar Pasha (middle, left), the second witness;
  5. Sheikh Ahmad Ibrahim El Gedawy and other employees of the Sharia Court who assisted him during the wedding (bottom).

This Egyptian work is currently in the public domain in Egypt because its copyright has expired pursuant to the provisions of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002. The 2002 law, which repealed Copyright Law 354 of 1954, was not retroactive, meaning that works which had fallen into the public domain in 2002 remain out-of-copyright in Egypt (details).
