Italiano: Miniatura di Beatrice d'Este, opera di Giovanni Pietro Birago, contenuta nel diploma di donazione del 28 gennaio 1494, oggi conservato alla British Library di Londra, col quale il marito la infeudava di numerose terre.
"Ce n’est plus la jeune fille que son buste nous a fait connaître, c’est la duchesse de Bari, la femme de Ludovic le More, l’impérieuse rivale de la duchesse de Milan. Elle est la, vue de profil, droite, raide, arrogante et fière, ses longs cheveux sont séparés en deux bandeaux rete nus par une résille et une ferronnière; comme dans le buste, ds retombent par derrière en une grosse torsade ; un collier de perles entoure son col laissé à découvert; la robe de velours foncé est agrémen tée de broderies et de crevés d’étolfe claire. Ce n’est pas la Béatrix familière, enjouée, écervelée peut- être, mais charmante de jeunesse et d’entrain, c’est la princesse, la femme politique, la vraie régente du Milanais qui devait bientôt faire appel à toutes ses facultés d’énergie et de savoir faire pour soutenir et conseiller son mari dans de graves circonstances".
