Summary

Description
English: Mingo Oak Cross-section/Slice. At the time this tree was cut in Mingo County, West Virginia, it was the oldest white oak in the United States. This slice currently resides in the West Virginia Davis College. When it was cut in 1938 it was estimated to be around 584 years old. Shown here with the hand of an adult woman for size comparison.
