Accoring to Strelitzia 29, p. 747 a densely leafy shrublet to 70 cm. Leaves oblong-linear, bracts ovate, keeled, < half as long as corolla tube. Flowers in a long spike, long-tubed, yellow oft en with maroon to brown lobes. Mainly Sept.–Jan. Rocky sandstone slopes, Kamiesberg to Ladismith.
