Description
English: Memorial portraiture tattoo of woman with hairstyle unique to Aboriginal Tasmanians over the heart of a pirate crew member of the Colonial Brig Cyprus recorded by Awa Domain samurai spies reporting to Hayami Zenzaemon, the Shogunate’s Feudal Overseer and two FieldComanders, Yamauchi Chūdayū and Mima Katsuzō, off Mugi Cove, Tokushima on 16 January 1830. The ink scetch appears in thier joint report of the repulse of the Cyprus from isolationist Japan.
