Summary

Ryan McCarthy, Secretary of the Army, Testimony before Congress,[1] January 2020. In Multi-domain operations (MDO), a Multi-domain task force (MDTF) is an experimental brigade-sized formation. The combatant commanders have requested several MDTFs for their Areas of responsibility (AoRs). In an MDTF,

  • A LRPF battalion is capable of Strategic fires ranging over 1000 miles, which would materially project power from land, independently of Air or Maritime forces.
  • A Logistics support battalion would ensure the supply of ammunition, fuel, food, water, medical support and other necessities for independent operation.
  • An I2CEWS (pronounced eye-2-cues) battalion would provide military intelligence, cyber and electronic warface, space (satellite) communications, and network capabilities to the MDTF.
  • An infantry battalion would provide force protection and other close-combat capabilities
  • A company with Gray Eagles or other UAVs would provide reconnaisance capabilities

It is recommended to name the SVG file “MdoMultiDomainTaskForce.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
