Summary

Description
English: There are currently 18 operating geothermal power plants on BLM Nevada lands, with a total generating capacity of 500 megawatts of power. McGinness Hills is the largest geothermal plant in Nevada and currently produces 100 megawatts of power (currently BLM is reviewing a proposed expansion to 150 MW). Geothermal is heat extracted from deep in the Earth, it's a baseload (24 x 7 x 365, rain or shine) renewable energy resource that has enormous potential for continued development in Nevada.
