English: "Mayor James John Thomas (October 1867 - August 6, 1947) lays the cornerstone for Columbus' City Hall, October 29, 1926. In his left hand he holds a trowel used in the ceremony, and in his right, a message from Frances Boyajohn, on behalf of the children of the city."
