Summary

Description

Matlacha is about 8 miles from Bokeelia, the town on Pine Island where my grandparents live. Matlacha is a little strip of land with squat, coral-colored art galleries, seafood markets and fishing boats lining each side. It's a great place to meander about, and the art galleries are among the most creatively decorated galleries I've seen yet.

Today I walked up and down Pine Island Road and weaved in and out of shops and seafood markets. The air is salty and the gulf breeze cooled things off just enough to make it the perfect morning.
