English: Sree Dhiraranjan Sen,an MBBS Student of Medical College,Kolkata and student leader of AISF(All India Students' Federation, founded on 12 August 1936,the first national Indian union of students) was died on Vietnam Day Police firing,1947 in front of Senate House,Calcutta University.on the same day,200 others injured,of whom 21 received bullet wounds,including some lady students also due to unprovoked and unwarranted lathi charge by Police on the peaceful demonstration of students against Imperialism.Later The Vietnam Students’ Association passed a resolution in its Hanoi session in memory of the Indian student martyr in March 1947. |
