Martindale Hall at Mintaro, the residence of John Andrew Tennant Mortlock since the early 1890's. Mortlock was the son of a wealthy pastoralist family and he took over running the Mintaro estate on the death of his father in 1913. Martindale Hall was built in 1879 by Edmund Bowman. Between 50 - 60 skilled tradesmen were brought from England to build the Italianate influenced sandstone mansion. The Georgian style Martindale Hall is in the midst of an estate of 10,000 acres. Martindale Station is in the hundreds of Upper Wakefield and Stanley. Martindale Hall is in the hundred of Stanley. Creator unknown. Black and white photograph taken in 1932.
