Summary

Description
English: Martin Ronne, sailmaker of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, stands at center and poses with a nautical knot. He smiles to camera as he holds and points to a knot to the right of him. Behind Ronne, ship equipment lies strewn across the deck of the C. A. Larsen. A large ship cabin rises behind Ronne at left and a mast passes overhead. The Port of Los Angeles is visible in the far distance.
