Description
English: Copy of one of the so-called Marly Horses decorated the former Domaine de Marly in Marly-le-Roi, Yvelines department in France. Work of Guillaume Coustou the Elder, both sculptures were commissioned in 1739 for the park of the Château de Marly, the two sculptures were transfered in 1794 to the entrance to the Champs-Élysées in Paris and then in Musée du Louvre.
Français : Moulage d'un des deux chevaux de Marly ornant ancien domaine royal de Marly à Marly-le-Roi dans les Yvelines, France. Œuvre de Guillaume Coustou père, les deux sculptures ont été commandées en 1739 pour la décoration du parc du château de Marly et ensuite transférées en 1794 à l'entrée des Champs-Élysées, à Paris, puis au Musée du Louvre.
