Description
English: Market Place, Reading, looking northwards to St. Laurence's Church, c. 1870. On the west side, No. 38 (Feathers Hotel); the entrance to the Corn Exchange with clock above; No. 34 (London Hat Warehouse); No. 32 (Gregory, Love and Clark, grocers; No. 30 (Bradley and Bliss, chemists); and No. 29 (Lewis Cooper, wine and spirit merchant). The Simeon obelisk has a pump and trough in front. 1870-1879. glass negative Box 22 No. 1541 by H. W. Taunt.
