English: Portrait of Margherita of Savoy (1851-1926), wife of Umberto I of Italy (1844-1900)
Italiano: "Il dipinto è indicato nell'appendice dell' inventario del 1881 come proveniente dalla "R. Residenza di Roma" (nota del 24 gennaio 1884 con riporto di spesa di £. 4000). L'opera è firmata da Michele Gordigiani (1830-1909), autore di numerosi ritratti di personaggi di Casa Savoia, tra cui uno di Vittorio Emanuele II. Il Gordigiani espone alcune opere alla Promotrice delle Belle Arti di Torino. Nel 1966 il ritratto è collocato al primo piano di Palazzo Reale, nel salotto tra la Sala del Caffè e la Galleria del Daniele" [1]
