Summary

Description
English: Home built by Margaret Morrison Husband at the corner of Main Street and Port Sheldon Street in Jenison, Michigan. Margaret inherited $150,000 from her employers, twins Lucius and Luman Jenison, after their deaths in 1899. The Jenison twins had no children. The home was completed in 1902 and had heat, electric and plumbing. Margaret died in 1913 and the home was left to her daughter, Bessie, who was married to Ben Hanchett, Jr. (A nephew of the Jenison twins.) The house was used as a rental with 2 apartments, during WW2 years and and was eventually purchased by renters Zoe and Clarence Tiffany, who restored the home. The home was known locally as the "Tiffany House." Zoe and Clarence also bought the L & L Jenison Mill and set up an antique store there. The house was slated to be demolished in the late 60s for a new express way, but local historical groups worked to save the home which now houses the Jenison Museum.
