Reflectance spectrophotometry is a much more modern way of measurement of human skin color. See Jablonski's work: [3][4]

Based on the map here :Image:Map_of_skin_hue_equi.png but without the 'white' streak across Morocco and Algeria. Filled it with an intermediate skin tone value, like Biasutti's own map shows.
