DescriptionMap of earth 3'000 million years ago showing Vaalbara and Ur continents.png
English: Map of earth 3'000 million years ago showing Vaalbara and Ur continents. This map shows one of the two main hypothesis about Vaalbara. Vaalbara today is one of the oldest presumed parcels of land in Earth geological history composed of part of southern Africa and the Pilbarar Region of Western Australia. Geology of these two regions indicates that when they were formed they were joined as one continent despite being quite separate today. In this plan Vaalbara was not part of the larger Ur but was its own slightly older continent to the west of Ur.
The competing theory is that Vaalbara was part of the larger continent Ur.
