Description
English: Manchester dock Liverpool Unearthed while building the new extension for the Leeds Liverpool canal is the entrance lock built 1803 for the Manchester dock built 1780, it was used by the Shropshire union canal company and the Great Western railway. It received all its traffic via the river in barges from Ellesmere Port (via the Shropshire Union Canal) and from Birkenhead via the Great Western Railway
