English: Mamenchisaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur known for their remarkably long necks, which made up nearly half the total body length. The largest species may have grown up to 30 m in length, and weighed around 45 t. Their shoulders were somewhat higher than the hips, and their necks were lightly constructed and pneumatic, allowing them to reach such great lengths. There is a variety of Mamenchisaurus species, differing in overall size and specific features of the skull and skeleton, but share typical sauropod traits like quadrupedalism, large bodies, small heads, and long tails.
